To identify phishing emails, it is essential to verify the authenticity of the email address and sender’s name. Legitimate companies won’t ask for sensitive information through email.

Be cautious of emails containing urgent or threatening language. Grammatical, spelling and formatting errors can also indicate a phishing email. Always check the links in the email before clicking on them; if it redirects to an unfamiliar or suspicious website, don’t click on them.

Be alert for unexpected emails or emails out of context, such as an invoice from a company you have yet to do business with. Be aware of suspicious attachments, as they may contain malware. Look for official logos, images, and signatures, as they may be copied and used in phishing emails.
