Types of Browser Hijacking
Hijackers install toolbars that display ads, add unwanted bookmarks, in your search results, or collect information about your searches.
Hijackers redirect your home page, search results or error pages to their own pages. These pages may include ads, sponsored links or trick you into downloading malicious software.
We recommend the following to stay safe:
- Make sure to download browsers only from the official sources.
- Always keep your device’s Operating System and browsers updated.
- Install and maintain quality antivirus software.
- Clear out your browser histories, cookies and cache frequently.
