What can attackers do?

  1. HIVE actors penetrate the network
  2. Steals information and terminates anti-virus/spyware, file copying and backup processes
  3. Encrypt the files and rename it with .hive extension
  4. Leave a ransom note in the infected directory providing the details on obtaining the decryption software

How to avoid being a victim?

  1. Do not click on unsolicited links or attachments in the email
  2. Secure back-ups and ensure data are not accessible for modification or deletion from the system where the data resides
  3. Always use two-factor authentication with strong passwords
  4. Ensure all the devices and applications are patched and up-to-date
